About Us
MyBookMyCountry.org is a social initiative founded by Christanto Suryadarma together with a community of like-minded volunteers, partners, and supporters who believe that every child deserves a fair chance to learn — regardless of where they are born.
Across many remote regions of Indonesia, thousands of children grow up without access to books. Schools may exist, teachers may try their best, but without reading materials, literacy cannot flourish.
When a child cannot read well, they struggle to learn.
When they struggle to learn, opportunities close.
And when opportunities close early, the cycle of poverty continues.
We exist to change that story.
Our Mission
To empower underserved children in remote Indonesian communities by providing access to books and reading spaces that nurture literacy, imagination, and lifelong learning.
What We Do
We build bridges between generosity and need:
• 📚 Distribute curated children’s books to rural communities
• 🏡 Establish reading corners and community mini-libraries
• 🤝 Mobilise volunteers, educators, and local leaders
• 🌱 Encourage reading habits and curiosity in early childhood
• 🌍 Create equal opportunity through literacy
Why It Matters
Literacy is more than education — it is dignity, confidence, and future readiness.
A child who reads can dream.
A child who dreams can aspire.
And a child who aspires can transform a family, a village, and eventually a nation.
If literacy gaps are not addressed early, many children will grow up without the ability to fully participate in society or pursue meaningful work.
